I Said Yes

Yesterday afternoon I said "yes" to the offer of taking organizational leadership of the sacred sexuality group in my city. It's a small group, just getting started, and my position is less of a "leader" than of the organizer and convener. But it's still a significant amount of responsibility -- especially considering my inward focus of the past four years. But the timing was right, and the signs were pointing to this being an important step/risk for me to take.

Thank you to everyone who shared their insights and offered good advice. It did help my discernment process.

This icon is actually slightly overstated. I'm not quite over my fear, but it's much less than it was.

My other big action, today, was to tell the local Co-Masonic lodge that I would like to be considered for membership. I've been attending their study group meetings every month since February(?), and have been enjoying their company. It's one of the very few opportunities I have to discuss spirituality, ritual, and associated topics away from LJ and other online forums. It's a small group -- only five members right now -- but they all seem pretty solid and committed. They are definitely people I would like to get to know better.
