Something's Coming. . .
Jul. 23rd, 2010 07:55 amI may have found the spark and the path to bring me not just fully back to life, but upward to my next level of personal development.
A lot of small things have been quietly shifting and emerging, everything from a book given to me by a colleague at work to my conversation with Dad the other night to my spiritual practices to very old daydreams. Lohain's whisper in my mind during our morning connection ritual today was like a key turning, setting everything into a new pattern.
I'm not going to speak of the details yet, just request prayers for discernment as I test this to be sure it's actually a breakthrough and not just a flash-bang that never comes to anything.
But I feel energized this morning, the kind of engaged/project-energy I haven't felt in a very long time.

That Voice
Jul. 23rd, 2010 08:39 pmI just watched the first episode of "I, Claudius," which I've heard about for years but never actually seen before.
The actor who played Augustus kept twitching me. His face was utterly unfamiliar, but there was no question that I'd heard his voice before: rich and resonant, far bigger and more imposing than his rather round and sweet face would lead one to expect.
Finally I paused the DVD and went to IMDB.com to look up the cast.
And then I had to look again.
Brian Blessed?
In all the roles I've seen him in, he's always had a big brown beard and seemed much bigger than everyone else. Augustus almost seemed smaller than everyone else.

Can't be the same man. . . !

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a photo of him in full armor as Exeter in Branagh's Henry V -- although he fights with a mace and a wild-eyed grin in that movie as well. . .
