Monday Morning
Jun. 30th, 2008 07:06 amI got a reasonably good rest last night, but I'm still tired today -- not surprisingly, I guess.
*offers cups of tea to all the friends who have been suffering from insomnia the last few nights
I'm actually looking forward to going to work this morning.
I need some distractions.
This morning instead of getting on the treadmill (I take Mondays off, and I was too tired anyway) I started writing my spiritual autobiography. I started, as always, with my father's story, since his journey of early vocation, becoming a minister, losing his faith, and the resulting spiritual environment in which my sister and I were brought up, provides a necessary context to my own faith journey.
I'm very tired, but I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the good friends I have. I spent more than five hours on the phone yesterday talking with old friends and new, as well as reading all the messages of love and support here on LJ. I am very, very fortunate to have such a strong community around me, even if so much of it is long distance.
