Looking Back
May. 29th, 2008 04:28 pmI just visited
uncrowned_king's journal for the first time in a while. May 29, 2007 was the last post of substance he made.
We had gone to a Shinto shrine, and I stood back and watched while he purified himself in the waters and prayed. His entry reflects faith in an ongoing future, with no hint that in two days he'd be dead.
He broke with a hugely important part of his past that day, severed himself from a tradition, a path, a duty that had defined him for a very, very long time.
That night as we were making love he told me You are all that I worship now.
