I'm sitting down for lunch in the Prime Time restaurant's sidewalk cafe, up the street from the exquisite Hotel Victor. And it is a "sidewalk" cafe -- the sidewalk runs right through the middle of it.
It's a different world here -- and it's an indication of how much I've grown over the past few years that I'm out here walking around on my own. I don't know that I would have been "afraid" before -- more a matter of finding it easier to justify staying in my room rather than getting out and about and exploring. I'm more inclined to experience rather than step back -- or at least more inclined to make the effort to choose embracing experience.
The people watching here is great, too.
