Just before I left work this afternoon I received an invitation to do a second interview on Wednesday morning.
Hooray!!
a_belletrist asked me if this was a job I really wanted, or if it was just a
different job. It was an excellent question.
The answer is: it's
not a job that has anything to do with my vocation, but it is a position that will give me ownership of a very small slice of the business, more independence, and room for growth. The company is working on enhancing customer loyalty, and this position is part of that effort, which means that I'll be focusing on ways to help
earn that loyalty, which is something I took great satisfaction doing when I worked for the rocket company. (And I was darn good at it.)
It also has a higher pay grade, a salary rather than an hourly wage, and a larger bonus percentage.
And did I mention it has nothing to do with my current division, and therefore I'll be far, far away from Miss V?
So yes, it is a job I really want. It's not my dream job, but it's a job I think will be far more satisfying than what I've been doing.
