We Still Have the Same References

Old boyfriend, that is.
My first boyfriend, to be specific.
We'd been out of touch for about a decade and recently reconnected.
Something came up in email a few days ago that later had me laughing quietly and thinking "Mr. Smith, the complimentary couch" -- that being a quote from a movie he and I saw together at least twice during that first summer we dated.
(1980, for the historians in the house.)
He replied to my email today -- and quoted that line.
I'm not sure whether to be tickled or scared. . .
