During the past week or so, I noticed an interesting trend among the posts made by my women friends: sexuality, and the intersection sexuality and the sacred, was more present than usual. Of course, most of these posts were made under filters, and not everyone posting on this theme was a friend of the others.

I started to think about creating a community that could be a private temple for women to share their thoughts and experiences about sexuality and the sacred, wherever that awareness of sacredness led them, be it celibacy, traditional marriage, a monogamous non-marital relationship, non-marital sex, polyamory, ritual sex, sacred prostitution, masturbation, daimonic relationships, or any other form that affirmed holiness, integrity, and pleasure.

So this morning I created [livejournal.com profile] feral_holiness -- drawing on my preferred definition of feral, which is "one that is untamed that was previously domesticated."

So I invite women who want to share, learn, celebrate, heal, explore, discuss, pray, dance, and/or ritualize their holy embodiment and passions to join.

I did think long and hard about making this a community for both women and men, because I know that there are many discussions that could be enriched by the participation and perspectives of male friends and lovers -- but ultimately I felt very deeply that this needed to be women-only space. I'm sure no one on my friends list will be offended by this, I just wanted to share that that decision was part of my process.

ETA: This community is not just for Friends of QoS. Feel free to share with any woman you think would like to join.
