[livejournal.com profile] _storyteller_ got here safely on Monday night -- bearing roses! -- and we were pretty much inseparable until he went back to his apartment last night, after making me a marvelous dinner, doing dishes with me, massaging my feet and hands, and then just hanging out with me for a couple of hours.

It's been amazing. There is a deep feeling of being at ease with each other, of mutual excitement as well as low-key enjoyment of just being in each other's presence and getting the everyday tasks accomplished. There are so many differences between us in experience, but so many things we share that we don't find in many other people. For example: yesterday afternoon we were talking about making soundtracks for RPG characters -- a practice each of us initiated in our own groups, and later we spent time paging through his binder of of printouts of apocryphal literature, some of which I was familiar with and some I'd never heard of. We both like playing with blades.

There were misadventures with the apartment managers and the maintenance people -- like them arriving to install new carpet right as we were starting to move things in, and the moving truck getting its rear wheels stuck in a ditch, and etc. But there was nothing we couldn't manage. He and my daughter are hitting it off famously, which is great.

And then there are the aspects I'm not going to comment on in a public post, except to say: *swoon*.

While waiting for the tow truck arrive to get the moving truck's rear wheels out of a ditch, I got a call from George at Broadway Across America. This wasn't "my" George, but a George from another level or two of management up.

His opening words were, "I can not apologize enough for what you've been through." He promised to put the credit through himself that day, if necessary, and said that although the touring company would not allow him to fully credit my Wicked tickets, I had only to call him and tell him which Paramount show I wanted to see and he would get me two tickets for it. Which I consider a totally acceptable resolution.

Once I see my money. Which hasn't yet appeared on my account. But evidently it has to go through a third party. If it's not there, I call him on Friday.

Today is Jeannie's going away party. She works a half day today, and a half day tomorrow, and then she's gone.

Tonight I need to go buy her a personal present, the go to my daughter's Parent's Night at school for orientation to what her class will be doing this year. Tomorrow I need to go to Home Depot buy paint, painting supplies, and new lights for my kitchen, because there will be another huge work party at my house on Saturday -- which will also be when the rest of my family (parents, sister, and her fiance) meet Lee.
