Brain Dead
Dec. 9th, 2005 06:15 amI did not sleep well last night. I woke at 2-something and could not get back to sleep because of a sore throat. I finally went to the bathroom to check the medicine chest, and decided it was too close to morning to take a night-time cold medicine, so I took some Day-Quil. It still took me a long time to get back to sleep. And then I was awakened twice by my daughter coughing. I am utterly brain dead.
I do have a request for input.
countessmary is running an icon challenge for herself. She's offering 10 icons to anyone who leaves a comment in her journal, but they have to request them from her list of movies, and accompany the request with lyrics for a song to use.
I've decided I want to use Practical Magic for the movie (as I've indicated here before, the sisters in the movie resonate very strongly with
southernselkie and myself), but I can't think of an appropriate song. (Almost 2000 songs on the iPod, and I can't think of one at the moment! Like I said: brain dead.)
Anyone have any creative suggestions? And if you have the time to include the lyrics with your suggestion, that would be very helpful, but not necessary.
Alternatively, I might request Moulin Rouge and "The Show Must Go On."
She has quite a list of movies, everything from Disney movies to classics (Singing in the Rain,
bookchick!), so if you'd like movie icons, you might check out the offer yourself.
At the moment, I need an icon from Spock's Brain: "Brain? Brain? What is brain?"
Oh, and speaking of icons and requests: I have three icons I've grabbed recently, one each from Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. Any of you dear, talented folks willing to compress and animate them into a single, cycling icon?
