Work is as usual, except that Miss V and I have been downright friendly to each other for more than three weeks now.

The entire household (me, the Ex, his SO, The Child, the Twins, and the God-daughter's son) all went to see Madagascar together last Friday, walking together from our house to the cinema. A Good Time Was Had By All.

This Saturday will be spent taking down a rod and shelves in a walk-in closet, patching any holes left by that operation, painting the interior a sunny color (The Child's choice, tbd), in anticipation of a visit by California Closets on Monday to make said closet far more functional.

This Sunday, The Child, my mother, aunt and cousin and I are going to see The Pirates of Penzance and then out to dinner together.

I am writing fun things in longhand, some of which involve a pirate.

I am reading a romance novel called A Pirate of Her Own. I can't remember the last time I actually read a romance novel. It's been years. This one is pure fluff, but the heroine is a writer, the hero is a heroic pirate, and the novelist has a light touch and a sense of humor, and I'm enjoying it as a fluffy break from the combination of boring work, intense workouts, and serious spiritual work.

For four days in a row I have been working out according to the plan set up by my personal trainer. My quads are killing me -- but I'm feeling very virtuous.

I am communing with entities I can not prove exist, but who make very good observations about my life and possible directions for continued spiritual growth. Right now, the focus is on deeper engagement with the world around me, opening up more to other people and to nature, and how to challenge my comfort zones in healthy ways, instead of keeping in my safe little cocoon of isolation and interior focus.

This is actually more content than I expected to generate when I opened the update screen.

*hugs* f-list.
