The Floor Has Been Painted!
Oct. 2nd, 2004 04:17 pmI had applied about two feet worth of edging when it suddenly occurred to me that it's more than a bit ironic that I have chosen to paint my floor "Jamaican Sea" blue. Ah well. . . maybe it will propitiate those water elementals I remain half-convinced have some kind of grievance against me.
It didn't take very long to actually get the job done. I edged the room, and my dad used a long-handled roller to do the main surface, and we finished in less than an hour. Kind of embarrassing after procrastinating for so long. I'm inspired to clear out my bedroom and paint that floor, which was the first place I pulled up carpet because of flooding. The biggest part of that job would be moving my bed, my large dresser, and my daughter's bunk bed out of the space. The painting would go relatively quickly.
My next immediate task, however, is buying a new table for the studio, which means a trip to Ikea with dad's truck. Maybe I'll get a throw rug while I'm there. I won't be putting bookcases back in the room but attaching shelf brackets to the walls. I'm putting as liitle on the floor as possible!
