I have never, ever bought a Christmas tree in November before!

But the Child and I went to the grocery store after church (which was a very nice experience) (church, not the grocery store), and there was a row of Christmas trees outside the store, including one that was about three and a half feet tall, beautifully formed, with full branches, for $17.99.

I had been planning to finally just buy an artificial tree this year: no pine needles on the floor, no fire hazard, no mess of trying to get it home in my car. But the Child and I both fell in love with this one, so after a few minutes of debate we stuck it in the grocery cart and took it home. It's sitting in the kitchen now, in the Christmas tree stand. I'm going to wait until after we dismantle and reassemble the living room after Wednesday's carpet cleaning before setting it up.

It reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree after the group fixes it up. :-)

Now, to finish my paper and get it behind me.

I'd love to experience a northern winter christmas one day!
