I'm backing off a bit from my previous post about my disagreements with a particular author about her interpretation of the skull as part of the iconography of Mary Magdalene. She does get a bit more into the acknowledgement of death in other parts of the book. Not much, but she does go beyond it being a "symbol of healing."
