I've seen this same thought expressed elsewhere, but particularly liked this utterance:

"God has often made saints of scoundrels, but He has never done anything with the half-hearted and the cowardly."

Sure he has, we just never see the simpltons mirciles. We would see them just as an everyday thing.

‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or else hot. So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.

I wonder if it is about having courage at the key moments? ...I'm thinking of movies here: you know, the scoundrel who does the right thing when it really matters, and the coward who is "good" but fails to be brave when it really matters?

Mind you - the key moments aren't always as clear in day-to-day life as in movies - we don't often celebrate the courage of the everyday, of the little decisions...mmmm

thoughts to ponder - thanks :)

Thanks!
I didn't have time to look it up this morning. I always forget that that's in Revelation.

I think it's more of a matter of a general orientation toward life.

The context of the quotation was the dangers of inertia in the spiritual life.
