One reason I can start getting back to LJ is that my iPod allows me to access this site during the work day, even though my workplace has a firewall that blocks it.
My old smartphone worked okay with LJ but the newer one was never reliable.
I don't have as much at work as used to have back at FormerMyCo, but at least I can use the iPad to read my friends list during breaks -- and on the bus!

Date: 2012-04-28 05:21 pm (UTC)I bought the previous model without built-in wireless, because I thought there was enough free wireless around to no need it. That turned out to not be true. But then I bought a portable cell tower (looks like a slim flip phone) from T-Mobile with a data plan that together cost less than the more expensive built-in 4G and the data plans from Verizon or AT&T.
I definitely need the connectivity due to my schoolwork -- which was the whole point of getting it in the first place.

I also use the Kindle app, can log into LJ or FetLife and actually post/respond, use some financial apps, use Fandango, and share Word docs with my PC via the Cloud. I also have a couple of movies on it -- although they eat up my memory very quickly.
