From The Home Front
Feb. 5th, 2008 05:34 amI finally went out and bought soap and shampoo after work yesterday. Obviously I'm not unpacking boxes quickly enough!
Actually, I didn't unpack any boxes last night. I worked more than 9 hours and then went shopping, drove 30+ minutes, and when I got home I had a 30+ minute conversation with my mother about what she had done in the kitchen and where the pictures are going to go. When she left, Wolfling kept asking to watch Bones with me, so I made a frozen fish sandwich, we popped in a Season One DVD (which she hadn't seen yet) and watched the first two episodes. Then I went upstairs, read some more of The Traveller (an engaging near-future sci-fi novel which Hob gave me), meditated, and went to bed.
I have a great photo of my brute squad, but have to find and unpack the cables for my camera before I can post it.
Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the communion thread. As always, I appreciate having friends who are both passionate and thoughtful about spiritual subjects. I hope to either respond to individual comments or post a summation tonight. But right now I'm still waking up and really need to do my yoga.
And this just in from my dad, via email: The attached graph shows a continuing decline in the prostate cancer return possibility. By next November the hope, and the expectation, is that the PSA will be close to zero. This week's reading was 0.91, down from the dangerous 8.4 prior to the radiation and seed implants. Which is wonderful news with which to start the day -- and as far as I'm concerned puts both my parents in the "survivors" category where cancer is concerned. (My mom is a breast cancer survivor.)
