Wonderful Weekend
Apr. 9th, 2007 06:10 amI had a close to perfect weekend.
On Saturday morning I slept in, then was doing LJ and email while eating breakfast. One of my non-LJ friends sent the link to LibraryThing -- an online book cataloging and sharing site. I browsed for a few minutes, then started entering books. Two hours later, I had sent over $25 for a lifetime membership and was still entering books and playing with it. I had not done the walk I had planned, and had to rush to get my shower and get The Daughter and I ready to go to
_storyteller_'s game.
( Gaming Bits )
The Ex picked up the Daughter at 7pm, when game was finished. There was the usual hour or so of winding-down conversations as the rest of the players, left, then
_storyteller_ and I cast about for something to do, finally deciding on exercise. So I went home and got on the treadmill and did most of the mileage I had planned to do that morning (I hit my fatigue wall at around 10pm), while he went out and bought and assembled a flat bench for using free weights.
Sunday morning I hooked up with
uncrowned_king and had breakfast with him, then we took The Daughter out shopping for rain gear because she's going to be spending her Spring Break days at a daycamp at the local zoo. Once we had ascertained that she was packed and ready for my parents to pick her up, we left her to play with the upstairs kids (she declined an invitation to come with us) and he and I headed off for a walk in the woods, heading out east of town to a cycle of trails he and
_storyteller_ had discovered when they were out together a few weeks ago. We had a lovely walk, ate a picnic lunch, then took the car and headed up into the mountains where there was still snow on the ground.
Dinner at the Outback Steakhouse, a quick grocery trip, then home for some fun alone time and a viewing of Thank You for Smoking which I really enjoyed.
