Back in December, I had the pleasure of dining with [livejournal.com profile] jaynefury and [livejournal.com profile] thomryng, and [livejournal.com profile] jaynefury shared with me the wonders of the modern pressure cooker.

Yesterday I finally ordered one from Amazon. It should be here on Wednesday.

To fully understand what a big step this is, you have to realize that the only other kitchen appliance I've ever purchased is a blender, which I picked up late last spring to get my fitness drinks fully mixed.

I can't remember when I got my mixer. My microwave was a gift when I graduated from college in 1988.

One of my big challenges as a homemaker, in my personal health, and my desire to nurture my daughter, is that when I get home from work I'm tired and hungry, and taking the time and effort to cook sometimes feels overwhelming. I'm hoping that the pressure cooker can help me get a real, healthy dinner on the table more consistently.

Some people bloom late. Some very late. And some, very, very late.

But, QoS, they all bloom. And the longer it takes, the more spectacular it is.

Quite the deal, huh?
The Universe

I feel like a very late bloomer, vocationally.
I cling to the hope that all the years I've put into my 'apprenticeship' will soon blossom in the kind of soul work I've been meant to do, but took a very long time to prepare for.
