Counting Down

One week from today I will be waking up in a bed in a hotel across the street from Disneyland! Our train will arrive late Sunday night, so I'm not going to even think about getting up early to take the park by storm Monday morning. We'll sleep until we wake up, and take it from there. With three days to enjoy, we should have plenty of time to see everything and take the time to rejuvenate between sorties.

And I just realized: it's exactly one month until my 41st birthday.

It's nice to know I can still get *happy dance* excited about going to Disneyland at my age.

And as long as I'm on the subject of "counting down": at the party last night, one woman had a pendulum she was using for divination. I asked a couple of questions about vocation, my house situation, and etc. And on a lark, I asked if there was a romantic partnership in my future. The pendulum predicts "yes" and for the connection to begin nine months from now. We shall see. . . ;-)

More About Talking with K

I want to make sure I didn't overemphasize the tarot aspect of my interact with C & K last night. It was definitely important, but what I don't think I captured in last night's entry was how it felt to sit there on the floor with K and listen as she opened her heart to me about her spiritual life, and her tension between her love for the church she grew up in and her expanding sense of God, and other things I don't want to post about even if no one here will recognize who she is. I could feel her trust in me, and her thirst for someone to talk to who she felt could understand and give her counsel -- or even just reassurance that was meaningful -- and I felt both right and comfortable about acting the role of spiritual companion/elder.

Last night I really felt my age, but in a good way: as if my years of experience have meaning and value beyond myself.

I could feel Spirit moving through me.
And I felt the all-too-rare-these-days sense of "standing in my power."
