For The Community
Jun. 20th, 2005 06:41 amIt occurred to me this morning that I would like to offer something to those who (I trust) will allow me to borrow gear for my Desert Quest. At the very least, I thought, I could offer prayers for them while I am on my solo journey.
Then I realized that praying for others was something I really want to do while I am out there, that it would be a way of having my personal quest serve the greater good, serve my community.
No need to chime in now, but before I go, I will make a post inviting everyone to submit special prayer requests, either in comments or email, whether specific or general.
I have no idea if my offering them in the context of my quest will give them any more efficacy or power than if I were doing it at home (although many spiritual traditions would say it would). . . but I am certain that the act of offering on behalf of others will add meaning to my own experience.
