Had a lovely visit with [livejournal.com profile] queenofhalves yesterday afternoon and this morning. Lots of talking, a visit to the Pike Street Market, salmon and noodles for dinner, some vodka, lots more talking, breakfast at IHOP, more talking. . . I finally took her back to [livejournal.com profile] lexicat's house, and it was great to be able to say "See you soon!"

[livejournal.com profile] saskia139, we invoked you and wished you were with us!

I need to work on my Cana paper some more this evening, as the due date is two days earlier than what the syllabus said. Contrary to what I wrote the other day, the structure I used for my presentation turns out to be a very good option for the paper itself.

But first, I need to cuddle my kid, who spent yesterday afternoon and last night at my parents' house -- her choice. Wednesday is her Grandmommy Day. It worked out well, because this way I could devote my whole attention to QoH, but I missed her anyway.

Thanks to everyone for their responses to my questions about service. You've given me a lot of food for thought. I hope to follow up individually in the near future.

I need to make dinner now, then write my paper.

Writing a paper is a funny thing. . . I usually make two or three or four false starts, searching for just the right point of entry, the golden thread that will lead me through the labyrinth of my own mind and research into the heart of the issue.

Two nights ago, I posted that the structure of my presentation for the final class session didn't need to be the structure for my final paper. It turns out that the structure for my presentation is far better than what I had in mind for the paper. And I feel almost joyous as I use as my entry point my oldest archetypal role: that of the Journeyer Between Worlds.

Thus Scribed QoS )
I am now looking forward to writing this paper.
