Saturday -- Looking Forward
Mar. 5th, 2005 09:22 amI stayed up too late last night watching Firefly ("Heart of Gold" and "Objects in Space") and starting to read The Void Captain's Tale, by Norman Spinard, which I picked up after really enjoying Child of Fortune.
Today I need to put in some sustained, focused work on my paper on the Wedding at Cana -- and the "creative response" which goes with it. I also need to do some hardcore house cleaning (scrub the bathroom, clean up the dirt on the floor in my office left by the removal of the hot water heater, and clean that unfinished closet so my daughter can use it for storage, etc.).
This next week is going to be intense, in a good way. Monday: my first "First Monday" gathering with a new spiritual circle; Tuesday my class is meeting at the prof's house for us to all share an aspect of our papers and/or creative response; Wednesday I'll go to work in the morning, then leave at noon to go pick up
queenofhalves and keep her for 24 hours!; Thursday afternoon I go back to work; Friday should be a "normal" day; Saturday I may have a meeting with my new teacher, and I'll go with
queenofhalves,
royalbananafish and
lexicat to a special gathering. (RBF, do you have the location info I need?)
My paper is due the 18th. I had been thinking about getting it turned in Tuesday night, but I'm really not far enough along for that to be feasible. I might be able to get the academic part cranked out if I lock myself in the library -- but the creative work is going to require a little more time.
I should have breakfast, get a chunk of housework done, and then go to campus and lock myself in the library. . . There are a lot of distractions at home. If I make meaningful progress, I'll reward myself this evening by taking myself to see The Aviator or Million Dollar Baby. . .
