Long Friday

I have zero motivation at work today. Everything else -- from spiritual life to housework -- seems more interesting and meaningful right now.

There is so much to read and write and ponder and organize and play with -- and I'm stuck in a cubicle. With responsibilities.

You have *got* to find a day job you can get behind. My job is often boring, and we alternate between long periods of inactivity and short periods of being inundated with work, but I believe in it. I believe very strongly in the value of a good public library to the community, and whatever I'm doing as part of that library increases the public good and disseminates knowledge. Even if I'm just reading fanfic while waiting for a shipment, I'm here for the good of the public, and I know library work is Right Livelihood for me. I can't help but think you would be happier with the overall shape of your life if you were doing something mundane that you can believe in.

You're right, of course.
I just can't think of anything I could 'get behind' that would pay me sufficiently to afford my apartment and etc.

What I need to do is act on my spiritual talents and put myself out there as a workshop leader and spiritual director and generate enough income from that that I could take a part-time job.
