Lodgings

This is where I'll be staying for the Florida trip: http://www.marcoresort.com/

It's a "four diamond" luxury beach resort.

They have a dress code.

I keep giggling.

[livejournal.com profile] kateri_thinks is coming with me!

We're going to bring our tiaras.

I happen to have a very nice one.

But I haven't yet tried it with my "casual resort wear" for those after-five-pm strolls through the lobby.

There's going to be an afternoon catamaran cruise. . . . Unless we want to be more adventurous and do the airboat "jungle cruise". If it's a "three hour tour" I shall be sure to bring all my luggage, including my evening gowns and survival kit.

1. Glow in the dark crank powered radio? Check!
2. Thirty feet of hemp rope? Check!
3. Six aerosol cans of Off sunscreen plus bug repellant? Check!
4. Paper umbrellas for fancy drinks concocted from coconuts and island distilled alcohol, served in coconut shells? Check!
5. Psychic radar fine tuned enough to get the hell off the boat if Some Big Idiot boards with us? Check!

All righty then, bring it on!

You handle the psychic radar, I'll bring my cutlass!

Check!

I so want a pic of you in the tiara. (I am not making this up.)

One of the things I always regretted about Irish dance is that I didn't start earlier. The little girls who are dancing high level solos get to wear tiaras, and the grownups just don't. Pout pout. :)

I will get you a photo of my tiara.

And tiaras are for those who claim them! If you want one -- get one!

Mine cost around $50 at Costume and Display in Northgate. It's pretty and substantive enough for a pageant or other 'real' affair, as opposed to the chintzy one-night-only-dress-up plastic things.

Make sure you pack your "smart resort casual." When are you going to be gone?

The trip is May 18-21.

Not long at all to get ready!
