Evidently the way to the hearts and minds of my LJ friends is through their stomachs.

I am extremely amused that my request for suggestions on storing/accessing recipes garnered the most comments I've received in quite some time -- including comments from people who very rarely respond to my posts these days.

I wonder also if it isn't easier for people to comment on the little things, the mundane things, the things we all have in common, rather than on the deeper stuff. I've noticed that my most "accessible" posts will get a ton of comments, but if I talk about what I consider to be my "real life" it's often pretty quiet. Though that doesn't mean people aren't reading. I hope.

And I've recently had occasion to discover that, for the most part, yes, people are reading. Which was startling and, for me, touching.
