Evidently the way to the hearts and minds of my LJ friends is through their stomachs.

I am extremely amused that my request for suggestions on storing/accessing recipes garnered the most comments I've received in quite some time -- including comments from people who very rarely respond to my posts these days.

I wonder also if it isn't easier for people to comment on the little things, the mundane things, the things we all have in common, rather than on the deeper stuff. I've noticed that my most "accessible" posts will get a ton of comments, but if I talk about what I consider to be my "real life" it's often pretty quiet. Though that doesn't mean people aren't reading. I hope.

Yep, the accessiblity thing matters. I get that a lot with the Thoughtcrimes, if there's a silly joke to be made, it'll be made. The more profound ones sit in silence, unless I write a story to go with. But I do think that deeper things sink in and garner reflection, they don't just get skimmed over by everyone.
