Weight Loss

Today is my three-month anniversary on SparkPeople.com. I have lost 15.5 pounds -- and it would have been more if I'd maintained my good eating habits and upper body exercising during the six weeks my knee was hurting and preventing me from doing regular cardio.

This morning I pushed my formerly tight jeans from my waist to my knees without unfastening them.

I consider this a noteworthy milestone.

Applause! I know what a difference this makes in how one feels...

You certainly have been an inspiration to me!

That's great! Congratulations!

Today I am down 13.8lbs in 12 weeks. Maybe we should race. ;)

I shopped last weekend and bought a bunch of tops in my former size. They are all too big. I have to take them back. Yay! I mean, what a PITA, but yay!

Hooray for you!

But as for the race, I find that such things end up being counterproductive to me -- at least when they're formal.

Yay! Congrats! You should tell me what your username is. Maybe you can inspire me to actually be on that website more often. :)

User name sent by email.

The community there is what inspired me to keep going after my knee knocked me off my stride. It really made a difference for me.

Congrats! Makes me think I should get back into SparkPeople. Then again, maybe I should just start doing my home workouts and sparring again. :-p

I find that having a couple of consistent friends on SparkPeople has made a big difference in my motivational levels.

Seeing the weight tickers, seeing how much others have lost, really inspires me. It's also helpful to read about others getting through tough times, starting again after having a bad day -- or bad weeks.

I did Weight Watchers for a while and hated to go to the meetings. SparkPeople gives me the kind of support and encouragement that Weight Watchers tried to provide. Plus, I really like the fitness and nutrition trackers on SP.

Wow. 15.5 in three months? o.o *wonders if this is the type of motivation she needs*

I've become a real SparkPeople believer. The tools are great, and so is the community.

Thank you!

Congratulations. There was a Today show interview a couple weeks ago about three women who had lost more than 100 lb each. One of them was a doctor who used SparkPeople.
