Userpic Changes

I've been realizing that it's also time to clean house where my icons are concerned.

I've deleted very few since I started LJ, just kept buying more space for them. But with the name change -- and all that goes with it -- it's becoming clear that some of those old images need to be retired.

*sigh

I'd like to keep them, so they stay affixed to the old entries where they are still appropriate -- but really, how often do I or anyone else actually go back to them? And there just isn't room to be flexible about adding new images.

I've always put a lot of thought and care into which icons I upload and which one I put on each post. I've been known to go out and create a new one if I don't have one that fits an entry.

But this seems to be my year to learn to let go of things. . . especially the things that no longer fit.

It's part of the growth process.

If you upload icons that are still relevant in some way to old posts, yet more relevant to your new identity, and you don't want the old posts to have your default icon, you can just use the same keywords on new icons. LJ will automatically substitute the new icon for the old one on those old posts, so long as you've used the same keywords on the new icon as you did on the old.

Does that make any sense? >_>

you could leave the most important one and attach all the appropriate userpic tags to it.
