Two Notes from Work

A colleague working from home just called me and asked for my help rebooting a database computer that's located under her desk here at the office. I'm wearing jeans, so it was no big deal to get down on the floor in her cubicle and perform the operation.

As I was sitting there, waiting for the hard drive to boot up again, my boss's boss walked by, stopped, and came back -- staring at me. He was on the phone to my own manager, and I heard him say, "I walked by and saw QoS just sitting on the floor in L's cube. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen."

All I could think was You have lived a very sheltered life.

Prior to that, I had another therapeutic chat with my replacement back in Dave's group. She has nothing but contempt for Miss V, whom she dismisses as "stupid" and "incompetent". She hates working with V, but isn't the slightest bit intimidated by her. Does my heart good. . .

*splorf* Sheltered, indeed. And nice to know Miss V is properly valued. ;)

I so heart that icon...

ha! I love these post-mortem notes on V. It must feel good to know other people have the same experience of her, and you are donedonedone with that job.
