Questions

[livejournal.com profile] yezida asked today:

What are you slave to?

What do you desire?

What are you willing to. . . ?

I am a slave to the perception of security.

I desire to manifest myself fully as a sacred, holy woman, a Wise Woman, a Queen -- and sometime Pirate. (Because everyone needs to cut loose every once in a while.)

It's the third question that's the hard one. I keep hearing Sean Connery in The Untouchables saying, "What are y' prepared to do?"

I need to be willing to
- risk being regarded as a fool (even if it's actually the other person who's foolish)
- risk exposing myself as a Wild Wolf Woman in the midst of civilized society
- risk making stupid mistakes
- risk becoming an authority figure
- risk people trusting me with their most secret and precious selves
- risk trusting myself rather than an organization for my financial stability
- risk taking responsibility for my own future

And I'm going to stop there before I really scare myself.

What's to stop you becoming a Pirate Queen?
(There is some wonderful examples of this in a fasntasy trilogy I just finished recently - The Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb.)

I've seen those books, but haven't read them. Perhaps I need to take a second look.

I love Pirate Queens, and if I'm going to be a Pirate, I'd want to be a Pirate Queen, but in this specific case, the archetypal energies I'm invoking are quite different.

I too am a slave to the perception of security. I have only begun to realise just how much being "a good girl" and playing by "the rules" has damped down my natural craetivity and personality, and how it's damaged me emotionally, mentally, and in terms of believing what I can do and how I can operate in the world.

I am willing to travel to the other side of the world and support myself for six months, to affirm these budding ideas.

That sounds exciting! Good luck!

It's the third question that's the hard one. I keep hearing Sean Connery in The Untouchables saying, "What are y' prepared to do?"

That's even funnier when I imagine his voice coming out of her mouth.

But those are hard questions; ones I need to think about.

"risk making stupid mistakes"

I think this one gets harder for me as I get older - if only because, after awhile, I just wish I had done ENOUGH stupid mistakes already.

"risk being regarded as a fool"

Always hard for the Queen of Swords! ;>

I'll have to try and think on these - great questions (and personally, I think Sean Connery asking *me* "What are y'prepared to do?" would light a fire under my bum, among other places....)

where there's fear, there's power! :> but you know that.

Actually, that's not a lesson that I've learned.
I haven't learned how to tap into the power.
