Keeping it in Perspective

In an email this morning, a friend of mine observed that "a certain level of geekiness" was essential for anyone I was going to be involved with.

To which I responded:

Occasionally I wonder if there's something pathetic about being a 41 year old geek.
Then I decide I have better things to worry about.
I'm not living in my parents' basement after all.
Except. . Hurm. . . .
I'm living in my Ex-husband's basement.

Then I remembered that it may be the basement relative to his living quarters, but I share ownership of the house.
So that was okay then.

...I share ownership of the house.

You are living in YOUR OWN basement. Huge diff. :-D Glad you realized that!

... is so totally random. I love it!

Hey, I'm a fifty five year old geek.

Which makes more pathetic than you by 14 years.

I refuse to accept that I'm ten years less lame than you. You live in your own basement. That's pretty cool.

BTW, are you going to be involved in any of the festivities this weekend? A bunch of us are going to be in town.
