Raising a Geek Kid

Wolfling tends to be rather nonchalant and somewhat hard to impress. She's not sullen or dismissive, she just doesn't get excited about a lot of things. She's never been one to squeal or jump up and down a lot.

I've heard her **squee** twice this week. And I mean a serious squee: loud voice, full body involvement, goes on and on. What prompted this uncha

1. Spike's first appearance on Buffy

2. My showing her the just-arrived copy of Turn Coat the new Harry Dresden novel

I'm definitely raising a geek. :-)

Yep!

Wolfling was squeeing in anticipation even before he got out of the car. ;-)

He's definitely a blast of icy fresh air on the vampire side of things. It wasn't until he'd vaporized The Annointed that I realized just how stodgy the vampire camp was compared to Buffy's gang.

(And I've been thinking that it's probably time to start reading Someone's Buffy fic. . . )

Having now watched up through season six and into season seven, it would be a breath of fresh air for me to see the Original Spike--brutal, snarky, self-involved, an unapologetic predator on the loose.

Arrgh. . . . do they eventually tame him?? No wait -- don't tell me. I'll just watch it through. . .
