Home from Hospital

My friend is being released from the hospital at 11am today. Because I have a car, a full-time job, vacation time, and a supportive boss, I have the happy duty of being the one to pick him up and take him home.

I talked to him twice yesterday, if only briefly. He sounds so much better than he did the day before. The tightness of pain mixed with determined stoicism and self-control was gone. He sounded like he was getting better.

I am so grateful.
