Holiday Music

Can anyone suggest some Pagan seasonal music?

The only pieces I have in my collection are Gypsy's "Bring Back the Light" and Dar Williams' "The Christians and The Pagans."

How about Emerald Rose's Santa Claus is Pagan, Too?

:P

I'll have to look through my music collection later, but for now - a quick Google search brings up this and this.

Also, Heather Alexander is always incredible. Not too many wintersongs, but Kiss Me, Jack Frost is one, and it's very good.

I highly recommend any of the Revels recordings:

Also - I happen to like the Windham Hill A Winter's Solstice series. It's fashionable to condemn W.H. recordings as bland "hot tub music" but there is some fine musicianship and just plain good playing on these, especially the first two discs.

If you like "world music" you'll enjoy the Paul Winter Solstice concerts recorded live in the Cathedral of St. John The Divine in NYC:

The two songs I can think of offhand are "The Wassail Song" and "Here We Go A Wassailing."

Holy Heathens and The Old Green Man: Waterson:Carthy

Traditional music- much of it admittedly Christian- done in a pagan spirit.

My favorite is "To drive the cold winter away." Lorrena Mckennitt

I have not heard "A winter garden"...
