I echo oakmouse - are the options within the company looking fruitless at this time? Is it the day-to-day of where you're at?
I had a friend who recently put herself through a lot of this same type of ringer - she was 'stuck,' but concerned about putting out the energy for a different position since she's planning on moving out of state in a year or two to pursue graduate studies. Halfheartedly applied to various positions at the 'company' (she works at the campus), and has now ended up in a job that suits her needs and personality, with fabulous co-workers. Bonus? The job was re-evaluated between when she applied and when she started, and she's making about $300 MORE per month than she originally thought.
Point of my story? Well, beyond hopefully being something to give you a glimmer of hope - things can cycle towards what you want and need, rather than staying status quo or sending you off the abyss without a parachute. While I don't think this is where you are meant to be forever, perhaps there are opportunities within the company to tide you over as the 'real' position continues to come into being?
