Jury Duty
I've been summoned for jury duty again.
Those who were on the f-list last year may recall my adventure serving on the jury of the Russian immigrant accused of DUI whose defense consisted of asserting that his chronic medical problems caused him to fail the roadside sobriety tests, not actual intoxication.
I really enjoyed the experience, including the challenge of coming to a verdict, and I'm looking forward to going back. This time I won't be downtown, but in the secondary court in a suburb south of the city. It will be a long-ish commute, but I have my iPod.
My summons date is May 14th, which fortunately is after the next class I'm registered to take through work.

This was my experience as well.
And I was actually impressed by the way the courtroom I was in functioned, and by the seriousness with which my fellow jurors treated the deliberations. (I can't speak for anything that happened outside the courtroom, of course.)
