Yes! That's my favorite line ... right along with, "I dressed my maids as Amazons and rode bare-breasted halfway to Damascus. Louis had a seizure and I damn near died of windburn ... but the troops were dazzled.

I played Eleanor in college and loved her, loved her, loved her. ^__^

I love that line too.

You're so lucky to have been able to play that role!

At the same time, I find myself wondering how well any college student could play either Henry or Eleanor. I'm hardly decrepit, but I certainly have a different perspective on Eleanor's sense of fading beauty and creeping mortality than I did when in my early twenties.

It was a lot of fun, even if the cast was a bit ... odd. I thought I'd get Alais, but my girlfriend was far younger and willowy looking. My boyfriend at the time actually played an unbelievable Henry, but he was a good actor and with the excellent make-up artist we had (my lover Roy played both Jeff and had experience in doing horror film latex make-up), he pulled off being a bit older. yet still we looked young for most of our roles. We had a flamingly gay man playing a very flamboyant Richard, and with Roy slinking about like a snake, his Jeffrey was both sinister and amusing. I wasn't too keen on the performance of John--played like Igor from Frankenstein more than a simpering young lad bent on self-indulgent fratericide. But all-in-all, a good time and not too poorly played. :)

I just realized I was sleeping with three of the main characters in the cast. Is there something wrong with me? *laughs* I just wish I had it all on tape. Err ... the play, not the um, other bit.
