I've been told I remind people of Princess Leia since 1977. It's always delighted me, since she was the first heroine I adopted as a role-model. (Truth be told, my friends have actually called me as "Princess" far more often than anyone has ever called me 'goddess.') As I indicated above, Delenn is more my style now, but it still pleases me to have someone connect me with Leia.
Although I'm not sure she fits your description of an "advisor to kings" either. I'm not up on all the expanded universe material, but it seems to me that Leia has been portrayed far more as a warrior than as an ambassador or senator, despite her official titles.

Leia is a driven, dedicated individual. She has a forceful; some would say abrasive, personality. She is professional in all respects, but occasionally relaxes her guard to let her strong compassion and quirky sense of humor show. Leia is a petite, fair-skinned human female with brown eyes, and long brown hair that she often wears in an elaborate fashion.
When Mon Mothma stepped down from her position of Chief of State of the New Republic due to health issues, she passed on the mantle of leadership to Leia. Organa Solo ruled for several years, guiding the Republic through numerous crises as the government experienced growing pains.
This really sound like your traits, or the traits I have seen.
