First Vacation Photos

My dad offered to loan me his very nice 35mm camera, but it was large and heavy, and I was sure that if I took it with us, I'd spend all my time worrying about not hurting it. So instead I bought a few box cameras I wouldn't have to worry about.

This is the first set of photos, mostly from Disney's California Adventure.

Grizzly River Rafts -- "You will get wet." We did. All three times we went on them. There's no track, just a rushing flume, including some drops. Lots of fun, and never the same twice. But very, very wet

The Grizzly Raft loading area. Disney has made a science of moving people as quickly as possible. The loading area rotates slowly, drawing the rafts through.

Hollywood Pictures / Hollywood Boulevard -- The fantasy of old fashioned film-making. With Frozone and Elastigirl in the foreground.

Muppetvision and Kermit's chair. The crates in the upper background are Muppet props: explosives, holes, Miss Piggy's costumes, Dr. Honeydew's chemicals, and etc. Every inch of space is designed to contribute to the total suspension of disbelief.

A girl and her mouse. It's a beautiful thing.

She's not yet 10 years old. God/dess help us all when she hits 16!

She's started to transition from "little girl" into preadolescent. Her face is lengthening and maturing. She's growing taller too. . . It's been pretty amazing to watch.
