Finally Doing It

I just finished painting noxious goo over 2/3 of the carpet adhesive swirls left on my office floor. Barring unforseen complications, I should have the damn project finished in less than two hours: 30 minutes to wait for it to work on the adhesive, 20 minutes to scrape it up, 2 minutes to cover the last adhesive, another 30 minute to wait, 10 minutes to scrape it up.

Then I use Mr. Shop Vac on all the bits of scraped paint/adhesive/goo left on the floor, then scrub it completely clean. Which will take more effort, but that's a separate stage in the project.

It's not a fun chore, but certainly not worth the more than a month of avoidance I've been putting into it. And I really need that space.

I need to get over my stubborn resistance to housework and household chores. It doesn't serve me in any way.

Noxious Goo Update

I'm finished appyling and scraping up noxious goo.

Now I have the disheartening realization that my floor is even less shape to paint than it was before. It's going to take a lot of work to get the edges smoothed and all the noxious-goo-and-paint-sticky-crumbs up off the floor.

Oh, well. . . [rolls up sleeves and gets back to work]

You see, if I keep posting about this, I have to go through with it, plus I get moral support so I feel less alone with the huge task.
